Accredited Home Lenders, Inc. (Accredited), headquartered in sunny San Diego, CA, is a nationwide mortgage banking institution with over 3,500 employees engaged in the business of originating, servicing, and selling Alt-A and non-prime residential mortgage loans. The need for quality individuals spawned the concept of Accredited's Management Trainee Program (MTP). The MTP is designed to take college graduates and recently discharged junior military officers with little or no industry experience, but with a strong desire to achieve success in professional sales at the business-to-business level, and train them in the specifics of "The Accredited Way" of managing business. The program centers on a highly structured in-depth training program that lasts 12 months and includes three to four weeks of classroom time and intensive, one-on-one, hands-on training in many of the Company's loan production and servicing departments, including a rigorous four- to five-month field-training program.
Management Trainee Program Details:
Accredited is recruiting and hiring entry-level candidates who are college graduates with a Bachelor's degree (preferably in a business-related field) and recently discharged junior military officers for its MTP. Candidates typically have little or no mortgage lending experience with a strong interest in professional sales and/or management at the business-to-business level. At the end of the twelve-month program, graduates are eligible for placement within Accredited in positions as Account Executives. Management Trainees with the right combination of skills and interests may be placed on a track to become Operations Managers.
There are three phases in the MTP. Phase one serves as an introduction to Accredited and the non-prime mortgage lending industry. Phase two introduces management trainees to the intricacies of mortgage loans and all of the support services associated with making loans. Phase three focuses on perfecting sales skills, developing business relationships, and learning how to work with brokers.
Each phase consists of a variety of learning activities and personal coaching by an Accredited subject matter expert. Coaches follow a list of specific training objectives to be achieved. They work with management trainees in the classroom, in the office, and in the sales arena to educate trainees on the intricacies of the job and industry.
Two well-received elements of the program are its executive briefings and management overviews. Presented through a combination of professional and social activities, these events provide management trainees and Accredited's leaders with opportunities to meet face to face with the intent of establishing relationships that may last a lifetime.
